They provide academic tutoring in all areas of learning including math, science, English, social studies, language arts, physical education, music, art, etc.Tutoring at Towson provides tutors to help children reach their potential. Often they work in tandem with teachers and other teachers in their specific classrooms. For example, a single class could be tutored by two teachers or one teacher could also be paired up with two tutors to handle the same class.What skills and qualifications does a TA have to offer parents? The TAs must be at least 18 years old and have held an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 3.0, passed an online test for the instructional level that their students are learning in, and completed training courses for tutoring.Most classes at Towson have at least one tutor who must have a particular curriculum and work closely with the students in the class. The Assistant Principal for this program ensures that each tuto ring session is conducted professionally and that the student's individual needs are met.
